(Lavandula stoechas)
Flower, Dried
1 oz.
French lavender has similar medicinal properties to common lavender (L. angustifolia). The flowers, and the essential oil derived from them, are anti asthmatic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, digestive and expectorant. Externally, the essential oil is used as an antiseptic wash for wounds, ulcers, sores, and is often employed in massage for relaxation.
An essential oil is obtained from the flowers - used in soap making, perfumery, medicinally etc. The aromatic leaves and flowers are used in perfumery, pot-pourri, and medicinally, and are often burned as incense sticks.
